It is with heavy heart I am telling this story people are dying quitly and silently without knowing the course apart from conventional sickness like simple sickness and majors one's it is a known fact that will have another killer and silent work.
Many people will be wondering it is possible to kill himself /herself in this present time,even with the present situation many undergoing hardship also have hope that things will be better.
But this sad even took place in the glaring eyes of friends and family a lovely and beautiful germs ended by life by snippet.
"Can we say it is the devil work" I keep in wondering what was going on in the mind of this young lady.
She never shows any attributes as some one being borderd by the pressure of family or friend and intelligent young beautiful lady.
From this news I heard directly from a neighbor in the compand this sad even occurs in idewu street olodi slaps close to wilmer bustop this young lady was rush to the hospital after shouting mine stomach.
An eye witness told me that on the Sunday of yesterday she was found sitting on the corridor of the house with a sad face one of the neighbors asked her are you alright she smiles and say am find?
But the lady says she know something was wrong with her but she was unable to figure it out, it was later on that day when the neighbors came back from market and heard what happened.
According to the younger brother, he was narrating the conversation of the sister before her passing away that the sister was asking him if snippet can kill someone when ingested the younger brother told her yes and left her in the house.
When the brother came back she was laying on the floor and he observed that the snippet rubber is empty but he can not perceived any smell around the house but he was silent and asked for his food, the sister do not respond so he taught she was sleeping and left her.
The mother came in call her by her name she sluggish turned to the mother and say "you are the course of this" the mother saw foam coming out of her mouth the mother started screaming nearby neighbors came and lift her up from her mother trying to press her stomach that is when the brother realized that the empty container of snippet was drank by her sister before they could rush to the nearest hospital she died.
From this situation alot can be learned from the neighbors said one of the major problem if this young lady was the mother unfortunately life is what you make out of it, she had a child out of wedlock still staying with the mother the younger sister was married with her downry paid by the husband everyday in the morning and evening the mother always reminds this lady of her misfortune. With courses and abused she keep telling her she is a failure that she is not contributing to the family she uses her sister as an example to follow always telling she is useless and worthless apart from that, the boy that impregnated her is a violent young man always in arguments with her if it not you are going out with different man today tomorrow will be your are lazy to take care of your daughter, again the elder brother always flunt her failure by regretted her as being part of the family because her dowry is not paid with other factor.
Now tell me who will be facing such and not get depressed. That is why I continue to say always check your "Mental Health"one can be depressed without knowing the first symptom of depression is mood disorder.
Right primary health care close to you are trying to diagnose people that comes into the facility for depression it is also good to discuss with your doctors things that makes you get aggressive and get you on your negative part
Depression is real and is killing both the young and old.
A friend of mine working in the primary health care centers said government is now taking over from the Canadian NGO that started the research with one professor from University of Lagos.
I thing is a good development and a welcome approach on the part of government but I thing it shouldn't being 100% government the work load in government hospital is too much considering putting this program under primary health cares staff will not be a good ideam
Mental health is a serious ailments and it should be given serious attention I suggest a facility fully dedicated to depression should be build each in all local government areas were people can go in discussed their problems get advice and solution in privacy, our local hospital doesn't do that before transferring to a secondary facilities.
A fellow up visit should be established after one is observed undergoing depressed especially in local areas .
I think this NGO with this institution that are working on depression issues should be fully incharge but under government supervision so that more can be done as we are aware government staffs are non chanlet in carrying out their core duties.
I would to get involved by telling people the seriousness of this sickness who knows you might be the one to save that someone from taking their lives, treat a depressed person like the way you will treat everyone with other kind of sickness depressed people don't reasoning normal because they are hopeless, unhappy, sad or feeling weak to do anything for their selves into our society have depreciation to the lovely were nobody cares about anybody I remembered those days were you can talk to people and you can confined in someone, but today the story have change rather what you told someone will be the gossip of the town your words will be the topic of the day under this condition talking to someone becomes difficult.
But still are going to watch and look on as our fellow Nigerian die in silent becames an ambassador of depression today your voice count.
